Thursday, August 23rd

A collaboration between Bromborough Folk Club and the Everyman Folk Club means this day promises an adventurous  programme as these two groups take over the Danny for the day. Bromborough club loves everything traditional (including Celtic) folk, contemporary folk, bluegrass and Americana. But with one foot in Merseybeat and another in the River, we love everything from skiffle, the Beatles to traditional shanty and sea songs. We like nothing better than songs of Liverpool, and relish our cultural heritage, enriched by music from all corners- or should that be curves? - of the world. The Everyman Club’s policy is for everyone to enjoy themselves and go home happy and still singing. This club has a strong resident base with Hughie Jones, ex Spinners Folk Group, Chris Jones, Shirley Peden and Keith Price plus a group of regular and enjoys a variety of music, traditional, country, blues and songs written by themselves.

Friday, August 24th

14.00 – 18.00

The final club in residence is Ellesmere Port’s Hungry Horse Folk Club. The club is famed for its Open Acoustic Nights – informal evenings of fun, laughter and songs performed by a very talented bunch of Singers, Musicians, Poets and Storytellers each performing in their own particular style, and they also boast a track record of great visiting artists. Their programme promises an excellent close to this year’s Folk days on the Danny.
