Weaver Vale Art Society, a talented group of award winning professional and amateur artists, invites you to step aboard 'The Danny' for an exhibition of paintings inspired by the beautiful River Weaver. Boats, bridges, buildings, landscapes, flora& fauna in watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel, ink& mixed media for sale at prices to suit everyone. Cash or cheque only.
The invitation is for everyone interested in the art of capturing waterways and industrial sites, and those interested in learning how to create sketches and artworks that capture waterways and industrial scenes themselves. As always, we will welcome anyone interested in looking around the Danny and visiting her 1903 engine rooms and 1936 Art Deco saloons – but expect everything to be different with the exhibition installed.
From 11am – 1pm and 3pm-5pm on August 15th and 16th, there will be a programme of 5 minute talks about the artists' paintings and techniques ànd sketching sessions with the artists to give hints and tips. You can bring your own materials or just avail of Danny clipboard, paper and pencils and the friendly expertise of the artists, to give you tips on how to translate what you see into the artwork you want to make.
Bar and hot drinks and snacks available on board. Daily Tombola. All proceeds for The Danny
