Midsummer Mood Music event - June 16
Published: 4th Jun
We are hosting a wonderful afternoon of music and decadence during our new Midsummer Mood Music event on our 1903 Steam Ship, located at Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge on the River Weaver.
Enjoy being transported back to elegance of the Art Deco era within the Danny’s saloons for this delightful midsummer musical celebration. The Danny's saloons have been fully restored to how they would have originally looked in the 1930's.
The event will be during the early afternoon and starts at 14.00 until 1600.
At 15.00 there will be a performance by The Runcorn Community Choir of two songlists: one celebrating midsummer and the other a selection of 1920s and 30s Art Deco Era numbers.
15.00 takes the interwar feeling further with an elegant show by cabaret artiste and vocalist LeeAnn James. In full period costume, LeeAnn takes the floor to sing some of her favourite songs of the era. For our public, flapper dresses & 1920s/30s costumes not obligatory, but we think it would be fun!
Speakeasy atmosphere will further be conjured up by our galley team. Free to join us; all donations very welcome. All proceeds go to the upkeep of the Danny. The Danny is a charity run by volunteers to help to keep the ship in steam after being saved from being scrapped.
